On Friday, September 28, the Nevada Cubs varsity football team traveled to Benton Community. The Cubs fought hard, but lost 16-56 against the Bobcats.
Coach Andy Kleeman said, “We had a tough loss Friday night. We had a number of injuries that were out of our control. I’m proud of the guys who stepped in. We did some positive things offensively that we can build off of. “
Junior Kody Kruschwitz set the single-season passing record with 36 attempts and 20 completions and 217 yards.
Kody Kruschwitz and sophomores Blake Bottorf and Caden Jones all made one touchdown.
The Cubs next play West Marshall at Union High School in La Porte City on Friday, October 12.
