On Monday, October 1st, the Nevada 7th grade volleyball girls played at Gilbert. All three teams split 1-1.
The A team split with Gilbert winning the first game, 21-17, and Nevada winning the second game, 21-6.
“In both games it came down to whichever team had the best serving,” Coach Corey Long said. “In the game that we lost, we struggled with serving and also struggled with defending against their strong serves.”
The B team won the first game with a score of 21-19 and lost the second game 17-21.
The C team lost the first game that was a hard battle 27-25 and won the second game 21-18.
“All the games were close, so it was an exciting night of volleyball with all teams playing well at times,” Coach Long said. “We still need to clean up our errors on the defense and make better passes to get our offense started.”
The next game they play North Polk on Monday, October 8th, at home.
