The Nevada Cubs 8th grade volleyball team fought hard against the Greene County Rams and ended up with a tie on September 27.
“The last time we played, we lost, so it was an improvement. Greene County was one of our first games, and we coaches were really impressed with how much our players have learned since the season started,” said Coach Hailee Bentley.
All the sets were very close and hard fought! The first match ended 16-21, the second ending 21-17, the third ending 21-19, and the fourth and final ending 20-22. The match was a great one to watch.
“There were moments in the game where we out-hustled them and moved our feet to save some tough balls. Lilly Goos was working hard and running towards almost every ball that came her way. Avery Hinson had some great hits, while Emma De Penning and Kira Ruopp were just as aggressive with their setting and tipping,” said Coach Bentley.
With this tie leaving the Cubs wanting more and wanting a win, they have lots of momentum going into their next game against North Polk on October 8.
