On Thursday, September 20th, the Nevada varsity volleyball team played at South Hamilton. They won three of the four games they played. The first game the Cubs won 25-18, but in the second they fell short at 13-25.
Coach Lori Stephenson said, “We played really well in game one and won with a comfortable margin. South Hamilton cleaned up some of their unforced errors in game two, and we struggled with ball control.”
They brought the score back up in game three to win 26-24. In the final game, they took victory with a score ending of 25-14.
“We started game four very strong, and South Hamilton could never really match our momentum. We walked away with a pretty easy 25-14 win,” Coach Stephenson said.
Senior Kelby Rewerts led the Cubs with nine kills, Junior Morgan Tupper and sophomore Hannah Thomsen both had eight. Senior Maddie Stevens had 17 digs, sophomore Ellie Gray had 15, and Tupper had 14. The team did well with having ten blocks and serving 95%.
The Cubs play again this weekend at the Waverly-Shellrock Tournament.
