On Thursday, September 20, the Nevada 7th grade football team played at Cub Stadium and beat the North Polk Comets 20-14.
Coach Karl Corbin said, “We played excellent and moved the ball very well throughout the game.”
The defense played a great game, only allowing the Comets a couple big plays to score their points. Those longs runs and passes were able to get North Polk their 14 points.
Player Terry Scott, had an exciting interception in the final few seconds of the 4th quarter to seal the game for the Cubs. Another key player to the Cubs’ success was Alec Higgins. He had a big touchdown pass which gave the Cubs one of their three touchdowns.
