On May 12, the Nevada boys varsity soccer team played North Polk with a final score of 2-3.
“We played pretty well for 70 minutes of the 80 minute game,” said Coach Todd Sampson. Nevada had a few lapses that led to three North Polk goals, which really hurt Nevada in the long run.
With it being a early morning game, it took the Cubs a little bit to get going. Once they were settled and ready to play, they competed well but didn’t capitalize on enough chances.
Nevada did have two goals, despite the missed chances. Devin See and Taylor Maiefski each had one goal.
