On May 23 the varsity boys soccer team took on Gladbrook-Reinbeck in the substate semifinals at Cub Stadium.
The Cubs beat the Rebels 3-2.
Brendan Sellberg scored the first goal for the Cubs off of a penalty kick. Ayden Rhodes scored the second goal for the Cubs off of an assist from Jose Buenrrostro. Jose Buenrrostro scored the final goal for the Cubs.
The Cubs had 13 shots on goal during the game. The team played excellent on offense having many chances to get the ball down the field and have opportunities to score.
Gage Maiefski had four saves during the game
The Cubs controlled the ball for a majority of the game.
The Cubs will next play Columbus Catholic in Waterloo on Saturday at 12 pm.
