On April 19, the seventh and eighth grade boys had a meet in Carlisle. The seventh grade boys placed fifth out of eight teams and competed well against bigger schools that were there. The eight graders placed sixth out of eight teams and did well considering they didn’t even have enough people to fill all of the races.
“This was one of our best meets with a lot of people getting personal bests,” said Coach Karl Corbin.
The seventh grade Nevada team did well in the 4×800, getting fourth place with a time of 11:08.42. Nate Anderson did well in the discus and shot put throwing 80-01.25 and 32-05 respectively. The 4×200 was also a good race for the boys. They won with a time of 1:54.49.
For eighth grade, Gavin Melohn got second in shot put with a throw of 37-06.50. Caedan DaSilva did well in long jump with a jump of 17-03 and in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.64. The 4×200 and 4×100 teams of Gavin Melohn, Caleb Kooiker, James Edward, and Caedan DaSilva did well, getting second in both with times of 1:46.14 and 50.50.
