The boys soccer team played a great game against PCM at home on Thursday, April 12th. The varsity game went into overtime, then ended with a shootout and a Cub win.
Due to weather, this was the first game in 10 days. Coach Todd Sampson said, “We came out great; controlling the game very well and had many quality shots on goal. We were very happy with our play in the first 20 minutes of the game and were able to make a great play to score our first goal.”
Anthony Ellis had a great night, scoring two goals. Emilio Saldana added onto that with one goal. Taylor Maiefski and Emilio Saldana had some assists for the Cubs, also. Dennis Garcia, Henry Nelson, and Jack Cahill are continuing to help the Cubs out in the back line.
Coach Sampson said, “We were happy to come out of the night with an “X” in the win column. We know there is much to improve on and we look forward to getting back to work next week.”
The boys soccer team will face the Waverly Shell-Rock Hawks this Friday on April 20th.
