The middle school girls track team ran at North Polk on April 10th. The top performances from the meet were the 1600 meter medley (that consisted of Savannah Skaggs, Alex Arnaud, Tessa Borswick, and Mayzi Weig) took 2nd, Elie Tuhn took 4th in the 1500 meter run, and Tessa Borwick in the 100 meter hurdles.
Coach Lori Stephenson and Coach Tony Neubauer said they were really happy with the way the girls ran at the meet.
This was the first track meet for the 7th graders and some of the new 8th graders. Hannah Waldera and Alexis Bartmess attacked the first part of their races and Tessa Borswick passed several people in the last two hurdles in the 100 meter hurdles to come in 2nd.
Coach Stephenson said, “Overall, we had good handoffs, but the following really stood out: Paige Handsaker to Lily Goos (4×200), Alex Arnaud to Avery Hinson (4×100), and Peyton Hanson to Sammie Herridge (4×100). Also, the team of Stephanie Lopez, Ali Stubben, Hannah Waldera, and Natalie Barber took good advantage of their free time at the meet to work on their handoffs before their 4×100 relay.”
The Cubs next track meet is April 19th at Cub Stadium
