The Nevada boys track team had another successful meet on Thursday, April 5th at Nevada. The team placed second overall with a score of 145 points.
Om’Unique Wilkerson had a personal best in high jump with a jump at 6’ 3.5” and placed first overall. Joven Nelson had a great time in the open 200 meter dash with a time of 23.06, placing 1st overall. Brendan Sellberg also had a great run in the open 200 with a time of 23.71, placing 5th. In the open 100 meter dash Brendan Sellberg placed 2nd with a time of 11.59, and Rodrigo Perez placed 4th with a time of 11.83. Joven Nelson placed 2nd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.66. Jakob Strottman had a personal best in the high hurdles with a time of 16.86.
In the 4×100 Meter Relay Nevada placed first with a time of 44.80. The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team had a season best time of 1:02.60. In the Distance Medley the boys placed second with a time of 4:00.14. Luke Fevold placed 3rd in Shot Put with a throw of 45-11.00, and Luke Merfeld placed 2nd in Discus with a throw of 122-01.75
Coach John Pelzer said, “We struggled with some baton exchanges, and I thought our focus and preparation could have been better from some individuals and relay teams. But, overall I am pleased with the team’s progress!”
The next boys track meet will be April 10th at Norwalk.
