Shawn Crain coached many other teams before he started coaching varsity girls track and varsity/jv softball. He has also coached many middle school athletics. Coach Crain has another job in Ames for Parks and Recreation. He oversees the Adopt-a-Flower program with 50+ locations. Coach Crain also organizes the painting of the athletic fields.
Coach Crain enjoys that he now coaches at the school where he participated in athletics.
“I enjoy working with the athletes so they can achieve goals as an individual athlete and help work to develop an entire program,” said Coach Crain. Some of his goals for the season are to help the girls continue to get personal bests and continue to beat their times from the previous year.
