On March 6, part of the Nevada boys track went to compete in the Dickinson Relays at the University of Northern Iowa.
“I was extremely pleased with our UNI results, many of our athletes only had five practices under their belts and still competed very well,” said Coach John Pelzer.
Some times from Nevada: Joven Nelson had a top 8 finish in the 400 meter dash with an outstanding time of 52.70 (currently 2nd in Class 3A). The 4×200 team of Om’Unique Wilkerson, Jakob Strottman, Rodrigo Perez, and Joven Nelson placed 12th overall with an excellent early season time of 1:36.3. Om’Unique Wilkerson had a top 8 finish in the high jump with a nice early season jump of 6 feet.
The Dickinson Relays is an unclassed meet meaning that you compete with teams of all sizes not just in your class.
