The JV boys’ basketball team played the Boone Toreadors on Tuesday, February 13. The boys played hard and won with a score of 52-51.
The boys had missed some practices which cost them early in the game.
Coach Greg Baethke said, “I feel the kids played well but were a little rusty from the lack of practicing and playing in games. We hadn’t played a game for a week and it showed early on in the contest.”
The boys were down 14 at halftime and then fell behind by 16 in the third quarter. During the fourth quarter the Cubs fought there way back into the game so they were down by four with three minutes left.
Henry Nelson led the Cubs in points with 16. Kody Kruschwitz and Chase Lycke followed with 10.
The JV boys’ basketball team ended their season going 11-3 in conference and 15-6 overall.
