On February 12, the Nevada 7th grade boys basketball team played against Gilbert. This game was a rematch of an earlier game in the year when the Cubs had lost 14-30. The Cubs played much tougher this game losing 22-24.
“We had a chance at a comeback when we outscored them 7-3 in the last 3 minutes of the game,” said Coach Cary Thompson. “Their coach was very complimentary of our defense. We held them to 24 points.
Karter Beving had a great game with 12 points. Carson Rhodes and Carson Mathers both contributed with four points each.
“It was the most complete game of the season for the Cubs,” said Coach Thompson.
Their record is now 2-5 on the season.
The B team lost 44-16. The leading scorer was Carson Mathers with six. Aiden Thompson had four, and Dallas Stanley, Mazy Hanson, and Peyton Mosinski pitched in with two each.
