On Tuesday, February 6, the JV boys basketball faced Grundy Center on the road. The Cubs battled hard and won 48-34. The boys played well, keeping Grundy Center under 40 points.
“I feel the biggest impact in the game was the way our team played on the deffensive end of the floor. Our goal every night out is to hold our opponent to under 40 points. We feel if we can accompish that goal, we will win most of our games,” said Coach Greg Baethke.
Since Christmas Break, the JV boys have played 10 games and heve held eight of their opponents to under 40 points. The Cubs are starting to play more as a team. Coach Baethke feels that the success of each individual person’s skills has influenced the way they work as a team.
“I feel a lot of our success is how we work in practice. The players always work hard in the skill drills we work on in practice, and the result of the hard work shows how we have improved throughout the season when it comes to game time,” Coach Baethke said.
The JV boys’ basketball record is 15-5 at this point in the season. Their next game is on February 12 at home vs. Boone.
