On Friday February, 2nd, the varsity girls basketball team played Gilbert. The Cubs won 43-29.
The Cubs played great defense only limiting Gilbert to 10 points in the second half of the game. Lexy Koudelka had 26 points and 14 rebounds. Lexy also went over her 1,500 career points. Riley Mailey finished with 14 points and Hattie Rhodes had five assists and five blocks.
“They need to work on taking care of the basketball and converting transition opportunities,” said Head Coach Tony Neubauer.
This win also gave the team a chance at the Heart of Iowa Conference Championship!
The Cubs play next against Grundy Center on Tuesday, February, 6th.
