On January19, the Nevada JV boys basketball team won 40-31, against North Polk, leaving Nevada’s record at 10-4. This was the third game of the week and second night in a row of having games.
“As a team, I felt the kids were a little flat for the most part, but were still able to hold North Polk to 31 points,” said Coach Baethke. “Our goal each night out is to hold our opponent under 40 points. If anything, I noticed them being more flat on the offensive end than the defensive end of the floor. I feel that our players are starting to play better team basketball than we did earlier in the year, but still need to continue getting better with the individual skills as well as the team offensive and defensive schemes that we run.”
Jarrett Fredin scored a total of 10 points while Jacob Sanders, Kody Kruschwitz, and Brayden Bottorf each scored seven points in the game.
The next JV Boys Basketball game is on January 26 against Roland-Story. Go Cubs!
