The boys freshman basketball team played Bondurant-Farrar at Bondurant on Thursday, January 18. The boys played well, but suffered a loss with the end score being 46-59.
Coach Kruse said, “In the first half, we played really well, putting pressure on the defense and putting up good, open shots.”
Going into the third quarter, the Cubs were ahead 27-22. The team started to loose their rhythm in the third quarter when they let up on defense. This let the Bluejays go on a run, and the Cubs were never able to regain the lead. In the fourth quarter the team only scored a total of 5 points.
Ayden Rhodes and Cooper Bovee were the teams’ leading scorers, with 13 and 12 points respectively. Additionally, Blake Bottorf contributed 10 points to the team.
The Cubs face the Roland-Story Norsemen this Friday, January 26, at the Roland-Story High School.
