On Friday, January 5th, the boys varsity team traveled to Saydel High School. The Cubs won 74-43.
Coach Hinson thought the Cubs had a number of players contribute and play well. Jakob Strottman, in particular, had a real nice game off the bench with nine points and 10 rebounds.
“In general, when the Cubs play at a high level, we are a really good team,” said Coach Hinson.
The coaches are just looking for consistency in playing that way, but Coach Hinson thought they played pretty consistently well throughout this game.
“A key for us was starting the game with a lot of focus and energy and jumping out to a 25-10 lead after the first quarter,” said Coach Hinson.
The team came out after halftime and played again with a lot of focus. They put the game away by outscoring Saydel 19-7 in the 3rd quarter.
Coach Hinson was really happy to have everyone play well and contribute. It was great to have the Cubs start out the second half of the season with a nice win.
