The Nevada Cubs freshman boys team competed against the PCM Mustangs Tuesday, Dec 12 at home and had an excellent win, 63-61.
“We won this game because we didn’t give up even when we were down 10 at one point. We kept letting them go on runs but then we would fight our way back to within a couple points, and we just put everything together at the end and were able to close the game out,” says Coach Jon Kruse.
Caden Jones lead the team with 18 points. There was a change in the Cubs defensive situations, but the Cubs stepped up to help instead of being out of position and that helped with the comeback in the 3rd quarter.
The Cubs need to continue to work on getting into help defense position so that not as many points are given up in the paint.
The team plays Greene County at home Tuesday, December 19.
