The Nevada Cubs played against the North Polk Comets at home on Friday, December 1, winning with a score of 63-56. The Cubs set the tone early by playing with a lot of passion and energy. The Cubs did a good job at playing hard and forcing turnovers, as well as breaking down the zone and finding easy shots.
“The taller players, Omunique Wilkerson, Jack Higgins and Luke Merfeld did really well at controlling the paint,” says Coach Chris Hinson. They all three rebounded great, blocked shots, finished well, and passed well inside. Coach Hinson believes that the Cubs’ perimeter shooting will improve as the season goes on, and he wishes to close out the game better next time. Hinson is looking forward to more conference road wins.
